Music for Life is a multifaceted program designed to foster the creation of new chamber music works written by new composers. It was begun in the Summer of 2004 by primary composer, Karen Van Duyne, through a Community Partners Grant from the San Francisco chapter of American Composers Forum. The concerts are multidisciplinary experiences that combine the talents of numerous composers and musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Music for Life concerts serve as fundraisers for different humanitarian organizations. See the "Causes" page for information on the organizations MFL has raised funds and awareness for.
